A magnetic valve can be designed with several features. A useful one should provide asymmetric torque into and out of its seated state and should have at least a 20% over-torque. It can also come with an optional cheater handle approach. Magnetic valves are able to cope with a wide range of environmental conditions, including high temperature, corrosion, and demagnetization. Additionally, they can be used in applications where a static service seal is required.
A magnetic valve comprises a housing, an electro-magnet, an armature, and an electrical circuit to operate the valve. The valve member is mounted in the housing and is connected to the armature by a spring. It also includes supporting means for the electro-magnet to avoid distorted housing.
A two-port valve consists of two inlets and one outlet. The spring pushes a plunger down while the coil raises a pin and determines the output at a given moment. When power is interrupted, the coil will not be present any longer, and the plunger will rise back to its original position. This valve is usually used for small flow rates and low operating pressures.
